MARIA CRISTINA
Maria Cristina Falls, also in Iligan City, has a total height of 320 feet. Because of the numerous waterfalls in the City of Iligan, it was nicknamed the “City of Majestic Waterfalls”. Also known as the “Mother of Industry”, Maria Cristina Falls supplies 80% of the total energy requirement of the Mindanao region. It lies on the the Agus River and is sometimes called the “twin falls” as the flow is separated by a rock at the brink of the waterfall. This lovely waterfall is the 7th tallest in the Philippines.
LIMUSUDAN
The second highest waterfall in the country is Limusudan Falls. It is located in Barangay Rogongon, Iligan City. This two-tiered falls have a combined height of 870 feet. Its lower cascade alone measures 400 feet, higher than the entire height of Maria Cristiana Falls.
DODIONGAN
Dodiongan Falls Brgy. Bonbonon, Iligan City, Philippines 65.60 feet high, cascading down to a concrete-like boulder. Its tranquil, cool waters and lush vegetation make it a real haven for nature lovers. The pool at the foot of the falls is very ideal for swimming. 14.5 kilometers away from the city proper and a 15-minute trek to the foot of the falls.
TINAGO
Iligan City in Lanao Del Norte contains more than 20 waterfalls one of which is the majestic fan type waterfall – Tinago Falls. This 73.1 meters or 240 ft tall waterfall has 5 drops. It can be reached by trekking about 500 descending steps called the winding staircase. This breathtaking waterfall is 13 kilometers away from the city proper. As its name suggests, this awesome waterfall lies hidden in a deep ravine.
MIMBALOT
Discover Mimbalot Falls an 11 km drive from the center of the city, located at Barangay Buru-un, Iligan City. It is approximately 90 ft. and 18 ft. wide. A breathtaking place to commune with nature, and take a dip in the cool fresh water pools around the area.
